Issue 2: Custom White Balance
If you recently shot some photos in your home and all photos looked a bit orange then you'll want to learn more about tungsten WB. There is the lazy way, which is by selecting default Tungsten setting under WB, however to gain a better control you will need to learn Custom WB -- to shoot with Custom WB you will need a prop called Gray Card, here are more about the card and what it does.
